    At this time Smelt Season has not yet started in the Chequamegon Bay as there is still very thick ice on the Bay. Usually smelting does starts in April…depending on Mother Nature.     Smelt Season 2018 Due to cold temps at night there is still a lot of ice on the Bay so at this time there is no Smelting going on yet in the Chequamegon Bay area.
