Ashland Area Fishing Report
June 7, 2018
Carolyn from Anglers all reports: Everything is happening right now and fishing has been turned on in the Bay. Small Mouth are in spawning mode; primarily in the Sand Cut, Brush Point, Oak Point Area. Along with the Small Mouth you will find Walleyes, Northerns, and Perch. People are fishing for Northerns on the Ashland shoreline. Trout and Salmon trolling has been productive, mainly in the channel and from Washburn north using shallow running stick baits. This is the time we wait for!!!!!
Scott Bretting from River Rock reports: There are more boaters and anglers on the Bay now. It appears people have their boats ready for summer on the Bay. Trolling on the surface has been great in the Chequamegon Bay. The water temps are starting to warm up. We had a lot of rain in the Chequamegon Bay Area this past week but the water is clearing up nicely. There have been some nice Northerns being caught. The Bass are getting up in the shallower water and are near the end of spawning. Also, some nice size Walleye's are being caught in the Kakagon Sloughs area. Coho's have been biting in the Sioux River and Onion river areas. Fish are starting to move into deeper water. Fishing in the Bay has been great. Lake Trout and Brown Trout fishing has been good in the south channel using down riggers and dipsy divers.
