Luke Hartel

Luke "Heartshot" Hartle
Luke Hartle has joined On Wisconsin Outdoors as Managing Editor in February 2009.  Luke is as comfortable shooting bull with a fellow hunter in the field as he is delivering under deadline another high quality story for a national outdoor magazine.

His wife Molly calls Luke an “Outdoorsaholic.”  He wears the label well.

Following one year at UW-Stout in Menomonie as an engineering major, Luke transferred to the University of Minnesota to pursue an English Degree. It was there that Luke’s wildlife education also expanded and he learned first hand that Gophers most often are a primary diet staple of the Badger. After graduation, he moved to Iola, Wisconsin to work on the editorial staff of Deer and Deer Hunting magazine.  He maintains his current position as Associate Editor with North American Hunter magazine.

Luke knows his way around these outdoor paper fields we call work.  He’s pretty lethal with bow or firearm in those other fields of dreams too.

kuehl

Johnathan Kuehl
I love to draw people.  Portraits are great, but when you turn someone into a cartoon you can capture their characteristics and personality in the drawing.  I've been drawing since I was little and still can't but my pencil down.  I'm always looking for new opportunities to push my skills even further.  Some of my experience includes illustrated children's books, magazine illustrations, greeting cards, cartoons, caricatures, and sketches for concept work.  I have a bachelor's degree in animation and have been using it to give life to my drawings.  I have animated a few television commercials, music videos, and web content like banner ads.
If you have any questions or comments for me or about my work please feel free to contact me via email at KuehlArts@gmail.com or via telephone at 612.812.9600.

Jim is a dedicated outdoorsman, a wildlife artist, photographer and videographer.

He was also a founding member, and past president, of the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, which has restored thousands of acres of wetlands.
