Your weekly owl update! - and other birds......

Wisconsinites are surely buzzing with all the recent news about great gray, boreal and northern hawk owls sighted around the state.   We wanted to make you all aware of a number of recent press releases and radio spots that WBCI - WIDNR staff have participated in related to these owls.

Ryan Brady, WBCI Monitoring Coordinator was on the Joy Cardin show earlier this week talking owls.  Check out the podcast at: (http://tinyurl.com/conenym)

Wisconsin DNR also put out two press releases about the owl irruption (http://dnr.wi.gov/news/BreakingNews_Lookup.asp?id=2715) including helpful information on how to observe these owls with respect.

Finally - migration is really picking up with the long-awaited warmer weather.  Check out the weekly statewide birding report here: http://dnr.wi.gov/News/or/#birding

Happy Birding!
