Waterfowl season public meetings, hearings and input opportunties
2013 Summer Waterfowl Meetings/Hearings and Public Input Opportunities
In addition to annual decisions such as season dates and daily bag limits, we are proposing increases to the number of lakes available for open water duck hunting for the 2013 season and changes to the Horicon Canada goose zone for the 2014 season. These proposals will be presented and comments taken during these meetings.
After the US Fish and Wildlife Service releases federal regulatory options, be sure to look for the DNR’s proposed waterfowl seasons online August 5th at: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/hunt/waterfowl.html
*These meetings are a great opportunity to learn more about waterfowl status and management. However, if you are unable to attend you can also send in your comments to James Christopoulos, assistant migratory game bird ecologist (see below for contact info), before midnight on Thursday, August 8th.
You can also find a press release relating to the continental waterfowl breeding survey data on the DNR website http://dnr.wi.gov/News/Weekly/
