Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Winnebago Sturgeon Spearing Report - Wednesday February 13, 2013

The 5th day of the 2013 sturgeon spear fishery has come and gone with 15 fish being harvested from Lake Winnebago today.  The number of fish harvested today is almost as many as Monday and Tuesday combined, and many spearers are reporting that water clarity is improving and they are able to see 2-4’ more than they were able to last weekend.  Members of our crew will be going out tomorrow to check current clarity conditions, and I plan to report those conditions in my report tomorrow.  The largest fish today was harvested by Brian Burnett and weighed in at 84.4 pounds and measured 66.8” long.  This fish was registered at our Quinney registration station, the same station that the 179.0 pound sturgeon speared Saturday was registered.  You can view the daily totals by station in the attachment below (Harvest_2-13-2013).

More on the Upriver Lakes:

The 2013 sturgeon spear fishery on the Upriver Lakes ended at 12:30 PM yesterday, and a very successful season for many spearers.   I compiled a short photo montage highlighting some of the fish that were registered at each of our 3 stations on the Upriver Lakes over the last 4 days.  As one spearer told me once, “Every sturgeon harvested is a trophy, it may take years to harvest that first fish and therefore every fish is a trophy!” I couldn’t have said it much better myself, so congratulations to all of you spearers who have successfully speared a trophy so far this season, and good luck to all of those still in search!
