Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Statewide Birding Report - Rare Bird Nesting Update!

Bird migration is now past peak in many areas of Southern Wisconsin, but the delayed phenology, cold temps and heavy rains across the north is making for some very exciting warbler watching. Check out the most recent statewide birding report at: http://dnr.wi.gov/News/or/#birding for all the details.

The news about Wisconsin's Whooping Cranes got a little better this week with the hatch of two chicks in Marathon County: http://www.bringbackthecranes.org/newsroom/2013/nr22May2013.html.  Let's hope that these parents can get at least one chick to make it this summer!

The late Spring has the Kirtland's Warbler nesting season off to a slow start as well.  Total numbers of males are lower so far this year in Adams County and only two females are actively nesting.  Let's hope that these birds are still making their way to the site now that temps are starting to warm up!

Stay tuned to the WBCI or DNR facebook pages for more information on birds in Wisconsin and don't forget to check out the latest happenings with the Great Wisconsin Birdathon (www.wibirdathon.org) and make a donation to help support the work highlighted above!
