HARTFORD GUN CLUB, WOMEN FOR MACC TO PARTNER AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER

For the past twenty two years, the Hartford Conservation and Gun Club has partnered with Women for MACC (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) to honor a fallen friend and raise money for children with cancer.  The Twenty Second Annual Gene Johann Memorial “SHOOT FOR A CURE” will take place on August 25th and 26th at the gun club in Hartford.  To date, this event has raised over $1,132,645 to support groundbreaking pediatric cancer research.

Women for MACC, Inc. is an all-volunteer, qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  All proceeds from Women for MACC, Inc. fundraising events go to the MACC Fund.  The primary beneficiary of MACC Fund support is the Midwest Children’s Cancer Center with research conducted in the MACC Fund Research Center of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

This two-day event begins with a corporate patron invitational on Saturday with over 125 five-person teams participating.  Sunday provides fun and entertainment for the whole family.  These events include a pledged 50-bird trap shoot for individual fundraisers, the Celebrity/Youth Trapshoot, a Firefighters Shoot, the Youth Team Trapshooting competition, and a children’s raffle and games area.  Throughout the weekend raffles geared to all ages, sought after silent auction offerings, and a grand raffle will be held.  The weekend concludes with five lucky individuals shooting for a chance to win an outstanding grand prize – to be announced.

We hope you will join us in our fight to eradicate childhood cancer.  There are many ways to support the event including:

  • A cash donation
  • Sponsor a Corporate or Youth Team
  • Donate a raffle or auction item
  • Sponsor a TrapJoin in the fun – The weekend festivities are open to the public (registration required for the Corporate Shoot)

We have all been touched by cancer in some way.  The overall cure rate for all types of childhood cancer has steadily increased in the past 30 years, but there is still work to do.  Won’t you join us in the fight?

If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please contact us at the club at 262-673-9919. We are grateful for your assistance.

Sincerely,
22nd Annual Hartford “SHOOT FOR A CURE” Committee
