Winterfest in Phillips

A Wonderful Wisconsin Get-A-Way

 On Wisconsin Outdoors

WinterFest in Phillips, WI has been a winter highlight for nearly 30 years. WinterFest 2022 will be held January 20-23 and offers something for everyone! Starting January 5, the Price County Tavern League Tour encourages you to check out the great watering holes (or maybe ice holes?) throughout the county. Admire the snow sculptures created by local businesses. Search for the hidden WinterFest snowflakes while participating in our WinterFest Windfall local shopping event for your chance to win Phillips Chamber Dollars!

WinterFest weekend kicks off on Thursday, January 20 at 7:00 pm, when The Cat’s Pajamas, a high-energy men’s acapella group from the Madison area, performs at Phillips High School. This is sure to be a fun evening for all ages. Tickets will be available at the door.

Enjoy “hot” and “cool” activities on Friday, January 21: a luau will be held at the Phillips Community Pool from 5-7 pm and a candlelight walk and bonfire will take place at the Wisconsin Concrete Park from 6-8 pm. Stop at Club 13 Supper Club to whet your whistle and enjoy entertainment by a roaming magician starting at 7 pm!

Saturday, January 22 features the annual ice fishing tournament on the Phillips Chain of Lakes from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, with prizes in a variety of classes; the Phillips Flurry snowshoe 5K; and kids' bingo hosted by the Phillips Moose Lodge and Phillips Public Library at the Phillips First Presbyterian Church from noon to 2:00 pm. Swing by Harbor View Pub & Eatery after 4:00 to enjoy raffles and fishing contest awards. A snowmobile parade from Birch Island Resort to Elk Lake Park kicks off the evening festivities: the always-popular winter fireworks at Elk Lake Park at 7 pm with a bonfire. A DJ at the Phillips VFW will round out the night.

Sunday January 23, the Chaparrals Snowmobile Club will host a breakfast from 8:30-11:30 am at Club 13, and an ice-skating party will take place from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Elk Lake Park rink.  Bring the whole gang to enjoy WinterFest in Phillips!
