Waterfowl Hunters Advised that Grand River Marsh Impoundment Water Levels Expected to Remain Low Through Fall 2020

BERLIN, Wis. - Waterfowl hunters are advised that water levels at Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area in Green Lake County are expected to remain very low through the fall of 2020, affecting opportunities for activities.
Due to storm damage sustained in August 2018, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources staff members are unable to control water flow through the dam at Grand River Marsh. As a result, water levels will remain too low for boat launching, and angling and waterfowl hunting opportunities will be significantly reduced.
"We regret the inconvenience to those affected by the drawdown at the Grand River dam," said DNR Wildlife Technician Jeff Lang,. "This is a favorite spot in our area for hunters and anglers, and we understand the need to get the dam fixed and raise water levels in the impoundment."
According to Lang, plans to repair the dam are underway, and the work is expected to be completed in the summer of 2020. For more information on the Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area visit the DNR website.
