Warden calls Trempealeau County ginseng theft 'common' crime against landowners
A Trempealeau County man who prepped for days of stealing wild ginseng by dressing in camouflage and leaving his car at unsuspecting places -- like cemeteries -- has been ordered to pay nearly $4,000 in fines and restitution following his conviction of illegally harvesting at least $10,000 of wild ginseng without permission and out of season.
