WI DNR - Fish Watching Update

You are subscribed to Fish Watching for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. This information has recently been updated, and is now available.

Wild Rose Fish Hatchery – Annual Fall Fish Migration Event: Held last Saturday in October to celebrate the end of the visitor season each year. (October 26, 2013)

Celebrate the annual migration of fish from Lake Michigan to streams to spawn.

Visit the Education Center to see two large aquariums, interpretive displays, interactive exhibits, and participate in games and activities that tell the story of the fish hatchery now and over the past 100 years.

Try fly rod casting or spin casting for kids, (free fish lure after learning to cast), learn to identify fish and aquatic invasive species, make and take a fish kite, see egg stages of development. Volunteers will help visitors with fish printing on t-shirts. (Assorted sizes available on first come basis, $4 donation.)

Don't miss the last guided hatchery tour of the season

FALL VISITOR HOURS: 8 AM to 3 PM; OCTOBER: Friday and Saturday

The Visitor Center and historic hatchery is closed to visitors for the winter season from November through March.
