Volunteers needed to look for rare plants

Search for "lost treasure" in Wisconsin

 On Wisconsin Outdoors

Training is set for April at four regional locations for volunteers interested in searching Wisconsin’s best remaining prairies, savannas and cedar swamps for lost treasure – 322 species of rare plants. From delicate orchids to python-like parasitic plants that strangle their hosts, volunteers for the Rare Plant Monitoring Program will get to see unique flora up close in some of Wisconsin's most spectacular settings.
