http://dnr.wi.gov/news/releases/article/?id=4276

MADISON - A storm with heavy rain and high winds that moved through southwestern and south central Wisconsin Wednesday night resulted in significant tree and flood damage on both the Sugar River and Badger state trails as well as trails at Wyalusing and Lake Kegonsa state parks.

The Sugar River trail is closed in its entirety, from New Glarus to Brodhead, until further notice. The southern portion of the Badger trail from Exeter Road, just north of Monticello, to Melvin Road, just south of Monroe, will be closed until approximately July 10.

All trails at Wyalusing State Park will be closed through at least the Fourth of July holiday and will reopen as staff are able to clear debris from the trails. The White Oak Trail at Lake Kegonsa is currently closed due to downed trees and will remain closed until at least July 10. Department of Natural Resources staff are working to clear debris and make the trails safe for visitor use. Trails will be opened as they are cleared and inspected. For updated information regarding these closures please check the BadgerSugar RiverWyalusing and Lake Kegonsa current conditions pages on the DNR website or contact the properties directly.

For people looking to explore linear trails this holiday weekend, the Glacial DrumlinCapital Cityand Military Ridge state trails remain open and in good condition. For complete listing of other parks and trails, search the DNR website, dnr.wi.gov, for keywords "Find a Park."
