Spring Turkey Learn to Hunt and Youth Hunt
The annual Spring Turkey Youth Hunt is designed to give novice
hunters the opportunity to hunt wild turkey and gain valuable experience at a time when other hunters are not authorized to hunt.
Youth Hunt: ages 10-15
Youth hunters need to be 10-15 years of age, who possess a valid spring turkey license, stamp, and ZONE 2 permit. All youth hunters must have successfully completed a Hunter Education Course. (Youth who do not successfully harvest a turkey during the youth hunt may use their unfilled zone 2 tag during the time period in which the zone was issued.)
All youth hunters will be accompanied by a mentor age 18 or older.
2- Youth hunters can hunt regardless of what time period their permit is issued for, but may only hunt in the Turkey Management Zone designated on their harvest authorization, (for instance zone 2). 3- The bag limit is one male or bearded turkey in total during this two-day youth hunt and all other hunting regulations apply.
Learn to Hunt: ages 10-Adults
Learn to hunt hunters are who have NOT completed a Hunter Education Course.
All LTH hunters will be paired up one-on-one and within arm’s reach of their mentor.
The Learn to Hunt Program, is an educational opportunity designed to help inexperienced hunters, both youth and adults.
We will have a tag for the LTH hunters
We strive to have each hunter and mentor have a safe and rewarding first-time hunting experience under the guidance of our qualified hunting mentors.
Learn to hunt hunters will receive both classroom and field instruction prior to the actual hunt.
April 6th-Wednesday shoot and meeting
MANDATORY TO LEARN TO HUNT HUNTERS
LTH Shooting: 3:00pm-5:30pm Waterloo Gun Club, N929 Co Rd T, Waterloo, WI. 53594
You need to come to the gun club sometime between 3:00pm-5:30pm, shoot a few rounds till we feel comfortable with your shooting--
LTH Classroom: 6:00pm-7:00pm

DNR Warden, Tom and Julie will explain how weekend will go—
Weekend Hunt:
All hunters/mentors- Meet each morning at Tom's Gun, unless Julie has been notified.
I check off mentors and hunters, I don't want anyone left behind.
LUNCH ON SATURDAY:
Lunch is served on Saturday after 10:30am to mentors and hunters at Tom's Guns,
The Marshall Lion’s is kind enough to help cook and serve you a great lunch.
Followed by a presentation from Julie and Tom and thank yous.

WE HAVE SOME CLOTHING AND A GUN IF YOU NEED TO BORROW ONE FOR THE WEEKEND.
We encourage parents, grandparents and siblings to join together by hunting or mentoring and create a hunting memory you won’t forget.

This year we are asking all mentors to complete the form again. 2020 just screwed me up so we can all start fresh. The background form is 4100-217 and it will just need to be filled out and faxed to DNR.. I attached one in the email or come in and I’ll help you.
