Spring Turkey Leftover Permits go on sale Monday

Spring Turkey Leftover Permits sales are one of the most popular events for DNR customers. The Wisconsin DNR and Go Wild are ready to help you prepare for the 2017 Spring Turkey leftover turkey permit sale.

If you are considering purchasing a 2017 Conservation Patron license, we suggest you make your purchase before March 20 in order to make the leftover permit process as quick and easy as possible.

Spring Turkey Tag sales will begin at 10 a.m. on the following days:

  • ·         March 20 – Zone 1; 39,473 permits available
  • ·         March 21 – Zone 2; 12,938 permits available
  • ·         March 22 – Zone 3; 34,273 permits available
  • ·         March 23 – Zone 4; 15,031 permits available
  • ·         March 24 – Zone 5; 3,537 permits available
  • ·         March 24 – Zone 7; 211 permits available (no permits available for zone 6)
  • ·         March 25 – All remaining tags for any zone

On the date of the sale, depending upon customer demand, you may experience a waiting period before you are let into the Go Wild site. To prepare for the sale, each day at 9:45 a.m., an online queuing system will be put in place to manage volume in the Go Wild system. At 10 a.m. all online users who are on the site will be randomly assigned a number and staged into a “virtual” line regardless of the actual time you entered into the system.

There is no advantage for customers who enter the site before 9:45 a.m. Please note that customers who enter the site after the randomization occurs at 10 a.m. will be added to the end of the line in the order in which they arrive. Once the queue is empty, online users will go directly to the Go Wild home page for the remainder of the day.

Once you access the Go Wild site, follow the prompts until you reach your personalized dashboard. To purchase a tag, click the "Buy Licenses" button from your dashboard to open the catalog. From there you will find the Spring Turkey Leftover Permit at the very top of the list. If you haven't had the chance to get your license in advance, Go Wild can help you get one after you select the Spring Turkey Tag.

Leftover permits can also be purchased at agent locations and DNR Service Centers. Customers at these locations will be in a physical line managed by each location manager.

The Wisconsin DNR thanks you for your patronage and we wish you a fun, exciting and safe hunting experience.
