Spring Greetings from the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail

The Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail
Spring Greetings!
We hope this finds you well and happily awaiting your next bike ride!

Our townships and volunteers are working to prepare the trail for the season. They are clearing brush and fallen tree limbs, as well as making sure the bridges and other crossings are safe and ready to welcome you.

We are as eager as you for the riding season to begin! Follow our Facebook page for updates, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Preparing Your Bike for the Riding Season
You're ready for your first ride of the season, but is your bike? REI shares tips to make sure your bike is operating at its best:
  • Inspect the tires' sidewalls to confirm there aren’t any cracks or slits. If you notice either, replace the tire immediately.
  • Properly inflate your tires. You can find the recommended tire pressure (PSI) on the sidewall of the tire.
  • Run the chain against a dry rag to remove grit, which can wear down parts on your bike.
Fixtations on the Trail
Need to add air or tune up your bike while on the trail? Our Fixtations are outdoor bike stands that offer several tools and a tire pump.
Fixtations may be found at the following locations along the trail:

🚴‍♂️ Intersection of Hwy M & Hwy N in Boulder Junction
🚴‍♂️ Intersection of Hwy K & Hwy H in Boulder Junction
