Public to review master plan for Northern Kettle Moraine

GREEN BAY - Two open house meetings are set so the public can learn about
and comment on the draft master plan for the nine wildlife, fishery and
natural area properties in the Northern Kettle Moraine Region.
The second meeting includes a live, interactive internet presentation that
gives online viewers the option to submit questions to DNR staff.
The draft contains DNR recommendations for habitat and recreation goals and
objectives for the nine properties in the DNR's Northern Kettle Moraine
Region Wildlife, Fishery and Natural Area planning group.
Informational displays and maps will be available and staff from the
different programs will be present for one-on-one questions and discussion.

Two open houses will be held to receive public comments and answer
questions:
*       Wednesday, Sept. 24 , 5-7:30 p.m., at the DNR Plymouth Service
Center, 1155 Pilgrim Road, Plymouth.  This open house will focus on Mullet
Creek, Kiel Marsh and Nichols Creek wildlife areas and the Onion River and
LaBudde Creek fishery areas.

*       Thursday, Sept. 25, 5-7:30 p.m., at the Washington County Public
Agency Center, 333 E. Washington St, West Bend, in room 113A/B.  This open
house will focus on Theresa, Allenton and Jackson Marsh wildlife areas and
Cedarburg Bog State natural area.

Both meetings will start at 5 p.m. with an open house format, running one
hour. Informational displays will be available and staff will be present for
one-on-one questions and discussion. A formal DNR presentation takes place
at 6 p.m. providing an overview of the master planning process. From 6:30 to
7:30 the open house meeting will continue for more one-on-one questions and
discussion.
During Thursday's meeting in West Bend, DNR will broadcast the presentation
from 6-6:30 online and will take questions from the online audience. The

The draft master plan is also available for public review during public
hours at the DNR Plymouth office, 1155 Pilgrim Road, and at the Natural
Resources building at 101 S. Webster Street in Madison where visitors can
ask for the facilities and lands program.
A copy of the draft master plan will also be provided to the following
public libraries:
*       Campbellsport Public Library
*       Cedarburg Public Library
*       Kiel Public Library
*       Mayville Public Library
*       Plymouth Public Library
*       Port Washington - W.J. Niederkorn Library
*       Sheboygan - Mead Public Library
*       West Bend Community Memorial Library
*       Lakeview Community Library in Random Lake

Comments on the draft master plan may be submitted at the open houses public
meetings, by phone, mail, email or online through October 10, 2014.
