Price County Fishing Report
Water temps have dropped from the mid 80’s down to the high 60s through the mid- 70’s on most area waters. This temp drop has kick started the bite again and most anglers are reporting a moderate Panfish bite and a slow walleye bite on Phillips Area Lakes.
Ross’s Sport Shop guides are finding crappie scattered from 8 to 25 feet of water, and are doing well using Clearly Outdoors Slip Lock bobbers with a Bottom Feeder Tackle jig head underneath. Minnows and waxies are both taking Crappie as well as plastics with pink and white being the top color combo for Crappies in my boat this week.
Walleye action was a little slower than the crappie bite but I started to catch them all day long again with a good bite in the early morning , mid-day and evening. 1/16 and 1/8 ounce Bottom Feeder Tackle jig heads tipped with a half of a crawler have been the ticket in my boat for walleye.
Musky action has been steady, most of the action in my boat is coming on the surface in the early morning or evening but watch the moon; there has been a good daytime bite as well.
Pictured is Evon and Dan who were guests in my boat over the weekend. In the 4 hour trip they kept 14 Crappie, 2 Bluegill, and 2 Walleye and let a good number of smaller fish go.
