On Wisconsin Outdoors Cartoonist Cochran Wins National Awards
Outdoor Writers Association of America is pleased to announce that Bruce Cochran of Jacksonville, Florida, was recognized as an award recipient for the 2019 OWAA Excellence in Craft Contests. This annual awards program recognizes and honors the best work of
outdoor communicators who are members of OWAA. This year, 67 individuals took home over
$11,000 in cash prizes.
His awards:
Second place in the general outdoor category of the illustration/graphic contest for “Way outside,” published in the November/December 2018 issue of Kansas Wildlife & Parks magazine. The general outdoor category recognizes pieces based on outdoor recreation or nature.
Third place in the general outdoor category of the illustration/graphic contest for “Marsh madness,” published in the June/July 2018 issue of Wildfowl magazine. The general outdoor category recognizes pieces based on outdoor recreation or nature.
Cochran is a freelance cartoonist, illustrator and humor writer with credits in Ducks Unlimited, Wyoming Wildlife, Petersen's Bowhunting, Playboy, Pheasants Forever Journal, Wildfowl, Gun Dog, Delta Waterfowl, On Wisconsin Outdoors, Kansas Wildlife & Parks Magazine and more.
