New ALASKA Bowhunter Education certification requirement
The Alaska Board of Game recently passed a regulation stating that, “Beginning July 1, 2016, all hunters using a bow and arrow to hunt big game in Alaska must have successfully completed a department-approved bowhunter certification course. They must also carry their bowhunter certification card with them in the field along with the appropriate hunting license, harvest ticket, permit, and locking tag.”
We are trying to get the word out to non-resident bowhunters so that they aren’t surprised by this requirement. Please share this information with your staff and the hunting public.
