Motorcycle Enthusiasts Deem La Crosse County Prime Destination for Annual Event
La Crosse, WI – June 10 - 14, 2018 – Hundreds of motorcycles are set to roll into La Crosse the second week of June. Motorcycle Sport Touring Association, a world-wide motorcycle touring club, will host their 2018 STAR Rally in La Crosse. Approximately 400 MSTA members will arrive in the area beginning Saturday, June 9th, departing on Thursday, June 14th.
Explore La Crosse has been assisting the group with planning the details for a couple of years now. MSTA members will take part in several educational conferences held at host property, The Radisson Hotel. Topics such as safety strategies, Sena Blue Tooth Communication, and the newest technology that is ideally suited to motorcycles will be covered. In addition, MSTA members will have an opportunity to explore the scenic countryside throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa.
Riders will support local attractions and restaurants during their time here as well as eateries, gas stations, and places of interest during daytime travels. Pedretti’s Party Barn in Viroqua, WI will host a rally luncheon on Tuesday. Each attendee is estimated to spend $1200 – $1500 over their average stay of six days. Many attendees will continue to tour the area after the rally, extending the economic benefit to diverse areas of the 4 states region. An estimated overall economic impact for the extended La Crosse area is $350,000 – $450,000.
MSTA members are motorcycle sport touring enthusiasts who look for quality motorcycling experiences and believe in safety, fun, and camaraderie and riding enhancement values. Most MSTA members ride sport touring style motorcycles. While the median age of MSTA members is around 60, members range from late teens to late eighties.
