Latest birding report - Swans and ducks inundate the Mississippi

Now is a great time to witness one of the Midwest's greatest birding spectacles - waterfowl migration along the Mississippi River in southwestern Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. 20,000+ Tundra Swans, clouds of Canvasbacks, thousands of other waterfowl species, Bald Eagles left and right, and some beautiful scenery to boot.

Where to go? Here's a map of some hotspots:  http://bit.ly/1aqKFyd

The Brownsville Overlook (on the Minnesota side south of La Crosse) is especially good, though many highway pullouts on both sides of the river offer viewing opportunities. Read more at http://bit.ly/17ANJqD

Also find the latest statewide birding report at http://dnr.wi.gov/News/or/#birding

Have a safe and bird-filled weekend!
