For Sale: The Original Boonie Bait Lure Business

The Original Boonie Bait lure business.  I purchased this company from the original owner and creator Phil Graser of Mercer after he passed.

The Original Boonie Bait lure is an extremely well built, well designed spinner bait with a huge following of anglers from Minnesota to Ohio (and of course Wisconsin).  These baits have and continue to catch everything from large panfish, walleye, bass, pike and Musky.

Having run out of space and time to continue producing the lure in the quantity enough to match demand, the sale of the Original Boonie Bait Lure Company includes just over a parts/inventory and tools at a valued cost of just over $39,700 for a sale price of $20,000.

The Value listed below is the wholesale cost of the item.  I realize I could make a lot more money by selling the pieces, but, I will only sell to someone who has the intention of keeping the Boonie Bait production going.  It is a great part of the history of the Northwoods.

Until it sells, I will continue to produce a small amount of lures, obviously (very slightly) reducing its value, but, the price won’t drop unless the inventory goes below $20,000, so the sooner you purchase the business, the better the value you get.

At one time the lures were found in 15 different locations.  Towards the end, they were only in 3 locations:  Kurt’s Island Sport Shop in Minocqua, Townline Sports in Manitowish Waters and Turtle River Trading Post in Mercer.  All of these businesses would continue to buy Boonie Baits.   As they have not really been in production for the last few years there is an increased demand for them.  There is also a list of individuals that wish to be contacted when the lures are being made again.

On Wisconsin Outdoors

There are 21 different models of Boonie Baits and because they are not mass produced this makes for an infinite number of different color combinations, etc.  That is one thing that customers like.  Included in the sale is the method for making each model.   The name Boonie Bait and The Original Boonie Baits are trademarked.
