Fishing Report November 5, 2019
Anglers All reports: Anglers are catching fish right now! Anglers are doing well casting the rocky shoreline for Brown Trout from the Inner Islands into the Bay. Trollers are targeting shallower areas especially near the stream mouths, primarily using stickbaits. The Streams have some Steelheads right now; but keep an eye on the weather conditions! Anglers continue to Shore Cast on both sides of the Bay, catching Trout, Walleye and Northern's.
Scott Bretting from River Rock Inn & Bait Shop reports: The air temps are really cooling with the nights getting much colder. Fish are still very active right now until the ice is solid. Inlands and Boat Landings are starting to freeze over and the colder temps are in the forecast for the next week. It won't be long and you will be on the ice. However, we stress "Be Careful" and "Safe". Call ahead for an ice condition report before venturing out! Remember; just because you see ice, doesn't mean it's safe ice! Stay tuned for ice updates! The Musky bite is still on with some nice size Musky still being caught. The bait used for Musky fishing has been Bait Rigs Musky tackle. We have a great Chequamegon Bay Fishing Brochure/Map which shows some of our shoreline fishing spots. Hopefully, your boats are getting winterized now! Hunters; don't wait, get your rifles sited in before the weather gets too bad.
