Election Night Results
The voting rules in Wisconsin are very clear, and there is no reason not to know who won the state on election night.
It’s September 6, 2020 and the Wisconsin Election Commission has sent out all of the request for absentee ballot forms, to all eligible voters, a full 2 months before the election. It says very clearly in the instructions that “All absentee ballots must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2020”.
This means that there is absolutely no reason for the people of Wisconsin to not know who won the state on election night. Ballots arriving at the municipal clerks offices after 8 p.m. election night must not be accepted.
