Do you know which zone you’ll be deer hunting in this year? Do your homework before you hit the woods!

Do you know which zone you’ll be deer hunting in this year? Do your homework before you hit the woods!

Make sure you take a look at the department’s deer management units anddeer management zones maps to learn more about Wisconsin’s new simplified rules. For example, did you know that Marinette County is a split unit, with separate antlerless permits designated for the Northern Forest Zone and Central Farmland Zone portions of the county?

For all the information you’ll need regarding Deer Management Units and more, visit dnr.wi.gov and search keyword “deer.”

Hunters are encouraged to check out the frequently asked questions page for more information. The FAQ feature provides brief responses to a wide variety of deer hunting questions, ranging from deer management unit boundaries to antlerless permits.

DNR Call center staff are available seven days a week (7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) to answer any questions. Call toll free 1-888-WDNRINFo (1-888-936-7463). Bilingual operators and publications are also available.
