DNR Releases 2022 Successful Sturgeon Spearer List
Hello Winnebago system sturgeon spearing enthusiasts,
It's been about a month since the 2022 sturgeon spearing season closed on the Winnebago System. We want to thank all spearers, UW-Stevens Point volunteers and DNR staff for helping make this another successful spearing season.
Thank you for continuing to adapt to the modified registration stations while we once again navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. The data we collect at the registration stations is vital to management of the Winnebago system lake sturgeon populations.
DNR staff have finished entering the harvest data and have finalized the successful spearer list. Congratulations to everyone who speared a sturgeon during the 2022 season!
A full summary of the 2022 spearing season will be released this summer. We appreciate your patience as we work to get you the best and latest information.
