DATCP NEWS: Register Now for the Future of Wisconsin Agriculture

MADISON – Agriculture and related businesses in Wisconsin are an economic driver for our state, but will that always be the case? Now is your chance to weigh in and help shape the future of our $88 billion dollar industry.

Make plans to attend the inaugural Wisconsin AgriFuture Summit to be held in Madison, WI April 8 and 9, 2015 at the Alliant Energy Center.

Any planning for the future must include a skilled and educated workforce in all Ag related fields and businesses. That’s why this summit, hosted by the Wisconsin Agricultural Education and Workforce Development Council, will bring together representatives from production agriculture, industry, business, education and economic development along with interested students from universities, technical colleges and high schools for an open discussion of what it will take to ensure that workforce is in place for the future of Wisconsin agriculture.

As you see in the attached agenda, there will be discussion groups and presentations focusing on three areas:

  • The future of Wisconsin agriculture.
  • The challenges and opportunities ahead.
  • Developing a skilled and educated workforce to meet those challenges and opportunities.

Now is your chance to contribute to the future of agriculture in Wisconsin. Go to: https://wiagrifuturesummit.eventbrite.comfor more information and an online registration form.

The mission of the Wisconsin Agricultural Education and Workforce Development Council is to develop and maintain the availability of a strong, well-educated workforce for the food, production agriculture, life sciences and natural resource business sectors of our state. For more information on the Council, go to: http://wiaglink.org
