We are nearly halfway through the hunting season, and the Wisconsin DNR asks to keep logging your hunting activity on the Deer Hunter Wildlife Survey.
Check out some of the numbers so far: Since the start of the bow season on September 13th, 1,729 hunting trips have been entered. On average, hunters spend 4 hours per trip and have rated the weather as a ‘7’ (with 1=worst 10=best). Hunters reported seeing nearly 800 bucks, 2,100 does and 1,400 fawns. In addition to recording deer, hunters also reported seeing a fair number of wild turkeys (2,440), ruffed grouse (275), raccoons (295), and bears (91).
