Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report
Well it looks like we are off to an early start on winter. What a crazy year. We went from winter to summer, then right back to winter. We had a very short fall if any really, and basically no spring this year whatsoever. But now with the 2018 gun deer season only about a week away I know many hunters like myself are happy to see the snow on the ground, and only hope now that it sticks around for at least a week. We did however finish up the year on a high note with several really great musky fishing trips and one very special musky/northern pike fishing trip with Dave Blohm and his son Jared. We boated some very nice muskies this past week and we had a personal best tiger musky in my boat with Paul Zimmerman catching a very nice mid-40’s inch fish. Most of the muskies this past week came on large live suckers in the 15 to 20 inch range but we did catch a couple of nice fish on Suick’s and Bulldawgs too.
Now as we head into the upcoming weeks many of us are looking forward to deer hunting season and the upcoming ice fishing season. I hope that everyone has a safe and successful gun deer season and the not so far off ice fishing season, which I am sure a few diehards will be out in the near future.
