Cancellation of 2020 Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival
Due to the recent state mandate, that won’t allow for statewide gatherings of more than 250 people because of concerns relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19, the decision was made to cancel the 2020 Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival originally slated for April 18th at Eron’s Event Barn in Stevens Point, WI. A film, “Dreaming of a Vetter World" to be shown on April 9th at McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids, WI has also been cancelled, by the library.
As disappointing as this news is, the volunteer committee members from Portage and Wood counties who work year round coordinating the festival, agree its the right decision. Planning will continue for next year, and the committee invites everyone to the 2021 WPCF scheduled for April 17, 2021. Clean Green Action is the umbrella organization for the festival, and encourages everyone to stay informed via their website:www.CleanGreenAction.org, and Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival on Facebook.
