Call for volunteers- MacKenzie Center Maple Syrup Program

Hello MacKenzie Center supporters!  Each year, we depend on nearly 80 volunteers to make the maple syrup education program and festival at the MacKenzie Center the huge success it is.  Our 2014 education program begins in early March. The calendar is 90 percent reserved and we already have two first time visiting schools signed up.  Your help is needed in many areas! Volunteers will be trained to conduct student tours, boil the maple sap, process the maple syrup, and assist with other “sugarbush” duties.  No previous experience is necessary, but we do caution you that this experience is addicting! Training sessions are scheduled at MacKenzie for February 25th and 27th from 8:30am until noon.  Volunteers are needed during the month of March, the first week of April and for the 'Friends of MacKenzie’ Maple Festival and pancake breakfast on Saturday April 5th. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering by emailing us at DNRMacKenzieCenter@wisconsin.gov or call (608) 635-8112 prior to February 18th.  The MacKenzie Center is located two miles east of Poynette on County Road CS.  For more information on the MacKenzie Center please visit us on the web athttp://dnr.wi.govand search MacKenzie.  Thank you and we hope to see you soon.
