Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Ashland Fishing Report

Fishing Report September 3, 2019

Anglers All reports:  Fishing continues to be good! Water temps have dropped substantially into the 50's in some places in the Bay. With the cooler water temps now, the Trout and Salmon are beginning to stage off of the stream mouths with anglers using shallower running stick baits. We still have until the end of September to troll for Lake Trout. Small Mouth are now in 10 to 30 feet of water. However, certain times of day you can fish the shallows of the shoreline for Small Mouth. We are having a tremendous year for Walleye fishing in the Bay. Most anglers are working 10 to 30 feet of water over weed beds and drop offs with anglers having success using crawler harnesses and stick baits. There are always Northerns in the mix. Don't have a boat??? Try shoreline fishing off the Marina break-wall for nice size Perch and other species. Autumn is for sure in the air.

Scott Bretting from River Rock Inn & Bait Shop reports:  Autumn fishing has started as the air temps are really cooling. Water temps have dropped quickly to the low 60's which made it very tough fishing in Chequamegon Bay. This past week there were areas in Chequamegon Bay where you could see rocks, boulders, and fish down over 18 feet with clear water. This creates very tough fishing as it almost shocks the fish to where they don't feed. But the next few weeks the fish will be very active creating really good fishing. Trolling has been really good and we should be seeing some Browns and Cohos coming in near shore. We're getting reports of Lake Run Browns going up the Brule River. Streams should start getting active with the rain we've had. Inland Lakes did well last week with Walleye, Pan Fish and Crappies being caught. The Musky bite is starting with the cooler nights with some dandy size Musky are being caught. We have a great Chequamegon Bay Fishing Brochure/Map which shows some of our shoreline fishing spots.
