Ashland County Fishing Report
River Rock Inn & Bait Shop, 1200 West Lake Shore Drive, Ashland WI 54806. 715-682-3232. Scott Bretting from River Rock reports: The Bay has ice starting to form with the cold temps we have had. Anglers are starting to ice fish the smaller lakes and right now they are walking out only. They are saying if the cold keeps coming, they may be bringing their ice auger next time. They are catching Pan Fish, some nice size Crappies, and Walleye. Always remember to bring your ice bar and check your way and always use good ice safety protocol. No Ice is Safe Ice!!! Lake Trout Fishing opened on December 1st in Lake Superior.
FYI...It's time to renew your WI DNR Guide licenses by the end of December. Archery Season is open until January 3rd. There are some active deer out there right now.
Anglers All, 2803 East Lake Shore Drive, Ashland WI 54806. 715-682-5754.
Carolyn at Anglers All reports: There are reports that some of the smaller Inland Lakes to the South and West of Ashland have up to 5 inches of ice now. However, it is strongly advised to use caution by bringing you ice bar and checking your way. It has been cold at night so ice is forming in the Bay. Get your ice fishing safety gear together and call ahead if you have questions on ice fishing right now.
