Are you in search of Spring fun? Head to Horicon for family-friendly events in March
HORICON, Wis. - Anyone in search of spring activities should keep Horicon in
mind - fun activities at the marsh range from waterfowl migration, hiking or
one of many family-friendly events.
And, don't forget to check out the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor
Center's new Explorium.
Saturday, March 18, 9a.m. to 1p.m. - "Searching for Spring" Open House Join
DNR staff at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center March 18 for an
open house while "Searching for Spring." A variety of booths and hands-on
activities focused on spring activities will be featured - this event is
free of charge great for visitors of all ages.

A wide range of activities will be offered, including turkey blind
construction and turkey call practice, gardening with native plants, and
invasive species defense tactics. Migrating ducks will be at Horicon soon -
attendees will learn how to identify these beautiful species just in time
for spring. DNR staff will also share helpful information regarding orphaned
wildlife.

Thursday, March 23, 10-11 a.m. - Stories at the Marsh Join a DNR wildlife
conservation educator for a "Turkey Tracks" themed storytelling and
craft-making session at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. This
event is best for children ages 1-10 years old.

Saturday, April 1, 10-11 a.m. - Eye on Invasives Garlic mustard, buckthorn,
wild parsnip, dame's rocket and other invasive plant species can be a
serious pest for landowners - find out how you can tackle these invasive
species in your yard or on your property at this event. After the program,
volunteers can hand-pull garlic mustard at Horicon Marsh.
