Alice in Dairyland Candidates to be Announced in Waterloo
WATERLOO – The 69th Alice in Dairyland top candidates will be announced by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) on Friday, March 18. Media is invited to attend the press conference at 1:45 p.m. at Crave Brothers Farmstead in Waterloo.
Following the official announcement, the current Alice in Dairyland, Teyanna Loether, and the candidates will be available for interviews and photos. Press is invited to join the candidates and Alice on a tour of Crave Brothers Farmstead preceding the press conference at 12:45 p.m.
Over the next seven weeks, the Alice in Dairyland candidates will be preparing for the three-day Alice in Dairyland Finals, which will be held May 5-7 in Dodge County. The finals includes agribusiness tours, interviews, a discussion panel, and Finale Program. The 69th Alice in Dairyland will be selected at the conclusion of the Finale Program on May 7.
Alice in Dairyland is Wisconsin’s official agricultural ambassador and travels thousands of miles across the state presenting to students, completing media interviews and attending community events to promote the state’s $88 billion agriculture industry. Candidates completed an application and a preliminary interview. Alice in Dairyland is a full-time public relations employee of DATCP and serves a one-year term.
