65+ Wisconsin Libraries in Bike to the Library 2016
Bike to the Library 2016 features special events June 19-25, 2016
Over 65 Wisconsin Libraries participating
What: As part of a statewide event, Bike to the Library, the Wisconsin Bike Fed, and the UW Global Health Institute invite community members to Bike to the Library during the week of June 19th. When library patrons bicycle to their local participating library, they will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes. Prize donors include the Saris Cycling Group, Planet Bike, Bicycle Benefits and the Field Roast Grain Meat Company. In addition, a total of 60 bicycle helmets will be given away at various locations. Wisconsin Bike Federation Ambassadors will be conducting safety presentations and workshops on safe biking throughout the year at some locations.
Why: Bike to the Library supports the health benefits of public and individual actions that reduce emissions, including those that encourage biking. Also, biking is fun! Books and bicycles are a great combination.
Who: Bike to the Library is brought to you by the 65+ participating public libraries across the state, the Bike to the Library organization, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Global Health Institute, and the Wisconsin Bike Federation.
When: Bike to the Library will be held beginning Sunday, June 19 through Saturday, June 25. (Specific dates may vary by individual library.)
Where: Over 65 libraries are participating around the state (and more are joining everyday). You will find a list here.
Who should attend: Bike to the Library is intended for all members of the community, and families are encouraged to participate.
