2018 Yellow Perch Report
Attention Winnebago System Fisheries Enthusiasts: I hope this email finds everyone well and you are having an enjoyable summer. I've been hearing angler reports that the yellow perch fishing on Lake Winnebago has been heating up over the last few weeks. Typically July-September are peak months for perch fishing on the system, so this isn't much of a surprise. Our Oshkosh fisheries crew has been assessing the yellow perch population on Lake Winnebago through fall bottom trawling assessments for decades, but more recently we have also been conducted spring fyke net assessments to monitor trends within the population. Given that fishing is heating up, I thought this would be a good time to distribute a report showing results of recent assessments. I hope you enjoy the report! We are committed to service excellence. Visit our survey at http://dnr.wi.gov/customersurvey to evaluate how I did.
