2017 Sturgeon Spawning Run Update
Attention Winnebago System Sturgeon Enthusiasts:
The 2017 sturgeon spawning run is underway and we had two crews out tagging fish today. One crew handled 138 fish at Bamboo Bend in Shiocton and the other crew handled 140 fish at the Sturgeon Trail on County X in New London. Fish were spawning heavily at both sites today, but I suspect that fish will still be at these locations tomorrow yet. At this point it looks like this year’s run is going to go pretty fast on the Wolf River, so I can’t stress enough to make plans to get out and see the fish within the next couple of days if you want to observe fish during this years spawning run.
For tomorrow we will once again have a crew tagging in the New London/Shiocton area and we will have another crew tagging fish at private locations in the Leeman area.
We are committed to service excellence.
Visit our survey at http://dnr.wi.gov/customersurvey to evaluate how I did.
