2014 Great Wisconsin Birdathon takes flight
May 1 marks the opening of the 2014 Great Wisconsin Birdathon. Initiated in 2012, the month-long event serves as the premiere way for bird lovers to support research, monitoring, and and other conservation projects benefiting Wisconsin's birds.
Whether you're a beginner or an expert, an avid birder or not a birder at all, there are many ways to participate in the birdathon and show your support for Wisconsin's birds. Form your own team, donate to an existing team, engage youth in the new Oriole Count, join the Long Walk for Birds, attend special Natural Resource Foundation of Wisconsin field trips, or simply donate a flat amount to the Bird Protection Fund. There's really no excuse to not get involved!
