2014 Early Teal Season Proposal

The Department of Natural Resources will be holding special public hearings to gather input on the following proposal for the 3 year experimental early teal season in WI, beginning in September 2014. Based on input over the last year from public meetings, advisory committee meetings, special breakout sessions, waterfowl hunter mail survey and meetings with the WI Conservation Congress Migratory Committee and the DNR Migratory Game Bird Committee, the Department has proposed the following for an early teal season:

  •  September 1-7 Experimental Early Teal Season
  •  Only blue-winged and green winged teal can be harvested
  •  Daily bag limit of 6 teal
  •  Shooting hours on opening day begin at 9 am and close at 7 pm
  •  Shooting hours from September 2-7 begin at sunrise and close at 7 pm
