A heavy heart today boys
3-7-2012
We were with Mom when she died Sunday. A great long life raising seven kids with Dad who we lost six years ago. My sister said it simply best; we could not have asked for a better mom, or Dad.
Thanks Mom. You leave me with….No excuses.
With much love,
Dick
We talked last week about the lake trout season opening up on Lake Michigan, adding a bonus to the great brown trout fishing that will continue as we move toward spring. Guide Brian Settele is on the lakers now in the Milwaukee Harbor. So is some visitors to this website. You’ll see a 25 pound brown submitted by a reader in a few days.
“We had a great morning of fishing out of the Milwaukee Harbor,” Settele said. “We caught well over 30 lake trout and brown trout jigging the gaps. The action was fast with multiple fish on at one time. Most of the fish we caught were in the 10 to 15 pound class. This fishing should last a few more weeks until the weather warms.” Connect with Settele at www.fishchaserguideservice.com.

Also, Guide Dave Hraychuck is going through withdrawals in Polk County after the gamefish season closed. He back in the saddle though and offers some great tips for bluegill fishing. Obviously, you can use his tactics anywhere in Wisconsin. Find the story under “Inland Fishing” on this website.
Check in again soon. In the next few days and weeks we’ll be spotlighting Clements Fishing Barge at Genoa on the Mississippi River, Wisconsin River fishing near Wausau with Phil Schweik and Hooksetters Fishing Services, Wolf River walleyes at Fremont, turkey hunting, a focus on Big St. Germain as open water nears with Guide Jeff Winters, and much more.
Bye,
Dick
