Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center Programs for September

HORICON, Wis. - The brand new Horicon Marsh Explorium is officially open,
and after you have learned more about the marsh's storied history, be sure
to check out some of the other events Horicon has to offer. Each September
event is free and does not require advance registration.

*         Sept. 1010-11 a.m. - Stories at the Marsh

Join a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources educator for a morning of
storytelling and craft making at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor
Center. Wriggling Worms will be theme of this month's activities - head to
the marsh to hear fun stories about these wriggly creatures and make a fun
craft to take home. Please use the lower entrance.

*         Sept. 106:30-8 p.m. - Do you Know Your Ducks?

Practice your waterfowl identification skills in preparation for waterfowl
migration and fall hunting seasons. DNR staff will give a hands-on look at
the differences between dabblers and divers and hens and drakes and lead a
hike to search for resident and migrating waterfowl (if weather allows).

*         Sept. 11, 6:30 -8:30 p.m. - Special Movies at the Marsh

Kick off the fall hunting season with a special screening of "Escanaba in da
Moonlight," rated PG-13. Moviegoers who wear camouflage will receive a free
bag of popcorn.
All "movies at the marsh" are free and open to the public. Refreshments are
available onsite - please use the lower entrance.
