Wisconsin hunters took just three days to harvest 216 wolves during the February hunt, reinforcing the belief of thousands of Wisconsin sportsmen that the official stated population of 1195 wolves is significantly below the actual count. Two dogs killed by wolves in January
Two dogs, a hound and a beagle, were killed by wolves in separate incidents in January. The hound, an 8-year old Running Walker Cross, was killed in Clark County while the beagle was depredated in Price County.
