Bear Hounds Killed in Douglas and Sawyer Counties
On July 9th, Wildlife Services confirmed that wolves depredated bear hounds in Douglas and Sawyer Counties:
* A six-month-old male Black and Tan hound was killed in the Town of Gordon, Douglas County.
* A seven-year-old female Walker hound was killed in the Town of Winter, Sawyer County.
More information and a caution area map are available on the gray wolf webpage.
Hunters are reminded to use the caution-area-maps on the DNR website (dnr.wi.gov, keyword "wolf management") to help reduce conflicts during this year's bear dog training and hunting seasons.
