Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Turtle Flambeau Fishing Report 10-30-12

By Professional guide Jerry “Jerkbait” Hartigan

Yesterday was a rain out, but Monday and Wednesday we targeted walleye and smallmouth.  Monday we fished the Turtle side of the Flowage and looked for walleye in the river channels and deep shorelines.  After trying several spots with only a few smaller walleyes to show for it we tried some 8foot to 10 foot bars with wood on them.  These spots had more fish with some decent size to them.  The bite was really light with fish barely grabbing fathead minnows on weedless jigs. We had a lot of missed bites but ended up getting fish up to 20 inches.  We released the bigger fish, which you could tell were females with lots of eggs starting already and kept seven or eight nice size fish for dinner that night for my clients.

Wednesday we were on the Fisherman's side of the Flowage and the fog was so dense you could not see any shoreline or landmark at all from most of the spots we fished.  With the water being 4 feet low it made navigation very difficult.  We did find lots of big smallmouth (30 to 40 fish) with the biggest being just a hair under 20 inches and many other near that.  Jigs and minnows worked well, but a dead stick or slip bobber rigs worked very well.

The last spot we tried was a river channel with wood on it and we got a few nice walleyes but rain chased us off the water.  The next few days our target will be musky. I will let you know what happens.
