Richland County Fishing Report 6-17-13
By Wayne Morgenthaler
The backwaters of the Wisconsin River near Gotham are producing good crappie action. They have been biting on pink and white jigs fished during early morning or evening hours. Cloudy days with a little wind are the best. The trout streams are producing nice fish. The smaller streams are clear now and the trout are surfacing towards evening. The big three trout streams (Pine River, Willow, and Mill Creek) are just a little muddy yet. This is a great time to catch the big ones as they are hungry. I was out yesterday and caught some nice 14 to 16 inch browns.

A good place to get information for outdoor activities for Richland County is to stop in at the Visitor Center located in Richland Center at the railroad station which is currently open from 8 to 4, Monday through Friday. They have some outstanding maps to help you navigate. They can also line you up with local guides. They are located on Hwy 14 in the middle of town and just look for the railroad car and station. There is a stop light at the intersection that you will need to turn on.
