Rice Lake Fishing Report
Stable 70 and 80 degree temperatures in the forecast should keep fish in similar areas that they were found at over the holiday weekend.
The bass are still holding in the deeper weed edges in the lake. If you are around cribs they are holding tight to those as well. Try pitching jigs, or plastic worms to pull them out. With the temperatures cooling the water off at night, the fish will slowly move to a top water bite.
The bluegills are still holding tight in the weeds. Dropping bobbers shallow with a worm in the thick of the bed will work, or going a little deeper when you hit the edges of the weeds. If you are catching small fish, move until you find the size category you are looking to catch.
The walleyes are on the move. They are following baitfish and staying very close to them. There are some thermoclines on certain lakes and the fish are about a foot shallower than that. They are still very active and willing to bite. Cover some ground and troll crankbaits or spinners over them to trigger a bite. Change your color to find which one is producing fish for the day.
