Price County Fishing Report
By Professional Guide John Carlson
Water temps are holding in the mid 70's and the Panfish and Musky are very active. The Panfish are being found scattered from shallow to deep. Fallen trees on deeper shorelines are giving up some really nice sized gills. We are also getting some gills out of 12 to 15 feet of water around cribs and other deep water wood.
The Musky are going on fast moving tandem bucktails and on the surface. A few customers are also reporting a good sucker bite.
We are ready at Ross's Sport Shop for the upcoming Musky Sucker season and have suckers of all sizes in stock. We also have a full selection of quick strike rigs and circle hooks. Remember a new law in Wisconsin says that you must use a quick set rig or non-offset circle hook if you’re using a live minnow or fish for bait 8-inches or larger.
Pictured are Cindy and Kelly from Texas, both with their first ever Muskies. Cindy's fish was 34 inches and Kelly's was 41inches. Both muskies were released. I'd like to thank Sara Fuchs 2011 Miss Rodeo Wisconsin for putting the package together that included a day Musky fishing with me that brought Cindy and Kelly to our area to fish.
